FWI?

If you'd read what I wrote, you would realize that I didn't say anything about the actual procedure of fighting fires nor did I comment about the manner in which people from the Katrina disaster were or were not rescued.

What I said was that Mexico did not open its cities and towns to embrace refugees from any U.S. disaster. While I am all for offering aid to those who have suffered in this most recent natural disaster, I don't believe that includes taking in the refugees. Let their own people take care of them as many of us, myself included, have worked to take care of ours.

True, my home (Mexico city) was reduced to a pile of rubble in 1985 because of a nasty earthquake, and if it hadn't been for the help of the United States a lot of people that was under that pile of rubble would have died

Sorry, I meant FYI. And sorry for the misunderstanding. And I think you know quite well why Mexico didn't take them in. Why would they help foreigners if they can't even help themselves?

Oh no doubt it has changed. Just at a very slow pace. Corrupt authority figures are still out and about.
