My family and I look Hispanic, and are of Hispanic decent.
Yes even though I am an Irish Mexican Mix, my father has dark hair and dark eyes with pale skin, so I tend to look Hispanic (some even think I look Puerto Rican or Brazilian).
My wife however, resembles Selena (god bless her)...I am not lying
I used to go to school with a 'Scots-Irish' family outside of Wash DC 35 years ago-----all 4 daughters looked 'Latina'.
Note: the family name started with 'Mc'; they were Presbyterian, did not speak Spanish at all and had no clue was Mexican food was------just that their paternal grandmother was a stereotypical Mexican (born SOB) and the girls' mother looked 'Puerto Rican'.
Yet; as I alluded to, the family was 100% 'Anglo' White, culturally speaking.

If they're ethnically profiling people, it's because 70% of illegals come from a single country: Mexico, with other Latin American countries contributing a non-insignificant number to that total. Who are they supposed to be profiling?
It's unfortunate, but that's the way it works. They're not going to target little old white or black ladies.
Look at it this way - every ethnic group has been or will be targeted at some time in history. Used to be the Irish-Americans, the African-Americans (still do), the German-Americans, the Japanese-Americans (bigtime), etc.
If the little old white or black ladies started committing crimes on a large scale over a period of time yes they would profile them.
Profiling is a way to gain information whether it is to solve a crime or other.
the reality is that anyone can harm anyone else, anywhere. at least, for the most part. i can be murdered in the grocery store. does that mean i arm myself to go buy milk? nobody protects themselves against every conceivable threat. they prioritize, usually based on the reality of the threat. the chances of us being attacked by al qaeda again are so small, its not worth even thinking about. and if we do enact some sort of defense measure, it should not be at the expense of anyone innocent. i dont want my phone calls wiretapped because i have the potential for possibly communicating with al qaeda. thats ridiculous. benjamin franklin said it best. "those who sacrifice their liberties for securities deserve neither". you want to stop the deaths of american people? help the promotion of healthy, active lifestyles. youll save more lives than the "terrorists" could ever think of taking.
