If the government asked for volunteers to stand along the mexican border and shoot any mexicans that try to sneak into the united states, then I think there would be about a million volunteers. Hmm.....immigration problem solved. I guess its too simple of an answer.

99.9% of people advocating border security don't want to hurt these people. Other than those who cross the border with the intent of harming U.S. Citizens, i.e.; gang members, other criminals, and the terrorists that are bound to be here with such a porous, unenforced border, I'm sure that most of them just want to work.

My problem is with their methodology, illegally coming into this country, having their anchor babies at the expense of the American taxpayer, costing the American taxpayer not only billions of dollars a year in services that should be given to Americans, but taking American jobs as well. My animosity is not toward these people as individuals, but toward their actions and the governments of both the United States and Mexico.

I don't want to shoot Mexican illegals or any other illegal alien. I want the Mexican government to fix the problems in their nation so their citizens will want to stay in their own country.
I want our government to enforce immigration law which will keep the pressure on the Mexican government to fix the problems in their nation so their citizens will want to stay in their own country.

Lol, yes the Mexican government is fixing their problems and its going along at a slow pace (probably due to their "manana" attitude). It will take time maybe a couple of centuries before Mexico will (and I do believe WILL rival the US as a world economic and military power). Canada will never really be a threat in the future, however Mexico will become a MAJOR power. They have a LOT of resources and manpower to use. It is only a matter of time, before Mexico has enough power to challenge and defeat the U.S. (and it can happen but the U.S. is kind of blind to that right now). The smart thing to do would be to annex Mexico - and control it now, not later. We should of done this years ago before we got into the tiff with the Soviet Union. Its too late now, as the other world powers would certainly backup Mexico if we ever invade. Ronald Regan made a big mistake and we paid for it as Bush made a big mistake to go after Iraq and we are paying for it now. Mexico and North Korea should of been our targets. North Korea is incredibly poor and well-armed and we may have another chance in the future (however they will be even better armed in the future). If only we taken over Mexico earlier, we wouldn't have problems with illegal immigrants cause they would all be citizens. I really do fear for our future when Mexico becomes a powerful country and should war erupt (in another World War)... if Mexico is against us... God save us all...

If the US Government asked this, of course, it would amount to nothing less than cold-blooded murder, and Americans would be bound by conscience not to "volunteer", and to do everything possible to see that no innocent human lives were put in danger, and to demand the immediate end of such a practice. Ironically enough, I think the Minute Men would be at the forefront in resisting and discouraging such a barbaric scenario...

Additionally, if it happened in an urban area along the border (Brownsville, Laredo, El Paso, Nogales, Calexico, etc), you'd have even MORE of a problem, because it is illegal to discharge a firearm within city limits.....!!

PS I sincerely hope this thread is someone's idea of a joke....if so, it's pretty depressing..
