Well, it's not a reward for the kids, they didn't have a choice. For a lot of them, Mexico or wherever is as foreign as it is to you and me.

Wasn't arguing with that, and I think the parents should be deported.

I'm just saying the kids should at least have a chance to stay if they really want to.

Lets see raised by Mexican parents in a mexican culture household. Doesn't seem like a huge stretch that they will be able to adapt no problem.
The point is that their parents violated our laws. The children as they became aware and move closer to adulthood became willing partners. We owe nothing.

You plan to adopt them ?

Kids go with the parents. They enjoy dual citizenship and can come back when they are legally adults.
No different than when any other legal immigrant comes here temporarily, has a kid and brings them back home with them when they leave the US.

Well, they don't all have dual citizenship, do they? What about someone who was brought here at 3 and is now 16. Deportation and a ban from what is essentially home? Kinda lame.

But I see your points, I get it.

If they get deported when they're 16, they don't get a ban. The ban clock doesn't start ticking until they turn 18. Time spent here illegally prior to majority does not count.

Flip it around: If a couple of Americans were living in Mexico illegally with their US born kids; would Mexico treat those kids as Mexican citizens?

Okay, that I did not know.

No but Mexico's a xenophobic hellhole, the US isn't.

But yeah yeah. I get it. Will stop arguing.

I'm sure a lot of the kids raised here couldn't care less about Mexico.

Does this mean that the driver licence being given out to them in my state is not going to happen now?
