You're breaking the law then or doesn't that matter to you? What law? The law that says one can't come here illegally and work here illegally, that's what law.

Lazy American? Are you kidding me? We didn't become the greatest country on earth by Americans being lazy. No one holds the corner of the market on hard work either. If illegals appear to be working harder it is because they are desperate and don't want to be reported and deported. Yes, they undercut Americans by working for less and you're ok with that?

And you find it admirable to break the law to save a few bucks? Yes, some people do it. Most of us won't break the law to save a few bucks. It's about morals and scruples.

Yes, the immigration system is a mess but that requires a federal solution. Also, the combination of a sour economy and better border encorcement have made a major dent in the flow of illegal immigrants into California.

Finally, notice that the total annual cost ($650 million) is only about 3 percent of the total LA County budget of roughly $25 billion.
The hungry children you are referring to are those here illegally and those born from illegals on our soil. If their parents hadn't violated our immigration laws this wouldn't be an issue. We cannot feed the entire world's children while trying to take care of our own. Where is your compassion for our own poor children?

No, actually illegal border entry has tripled since Obama has promised amnesty.

Whether it be $650 million or double or triple that we cannot afford to keep doing this. Our country and states are going broke.

California did this to themselves by giving more than the Fed calls for.
So they now need to foot the bill for this.

Boxer is trying to nationalize some of this CA debt for illegals once amnesty hits.
Now they realize the cost to their residents and that cost is going sky high.

You're spot on with that comment. Up until 2009, Calif provided dental care for its medi-cal recipients, much more than other states. When Gov Pete Wilson tried to give less funding to lower cost of living areas in the state, he was overruled in the courts. Calif allowed a limit of 6 meds a month for medi-cal recipients while Texas allowed only 3. Calif has been much too generous to the poor.
