We also need a bill to end anchor babies from being citizens.

Gutierrez is just mad that there are some common sense Republicans that are putting Americans first and aren't going to join the four Republicans in the Senate that are under the false notion that this shamnesty will garner the party more of the Hispanic vote. He hasn't seen anything yet in the House. There are many more Republicans that aren't going to go for this nonsense in the House.

Making felons out of those who cross our border illegally and allowing our states to enforce immigration laws is the last thing that Gutierrez wants. It should have been so long ago.

This is utterly pointless. It will only serve to further depict the GOP as a "discriminatory" party. You know that the media will have a field day with this.

House committee takes up tough immigration bill
Some of the legislation being protested is that it would be mandatory to detain an illegal caught drunk driving. Why would this be a bad thing? Get a DWI as a citizen and your life is turned upside down and the damage to your finances are devastated. Why should an illegal not be held to such a standard if not higher? After all the crime is compounded by being here illegally as well as many other crimes.
The pro illegal side seems to feel that illegals should just get free pass after free pass.

They will also get a pass on committing felony ID and SS theft. Let's see a citizen get a pass on that. It's not going to happen.

Uh; MOST countries make it VERY tough for illegal aliens to be there. It's def high time for the US to do just that too. Sheesh!

As many know Thailand is my second home. I love that country and I love Thai people.
40% of our illegals are VISA overstays. Thailand shares this problem. They have passed laws where if you overstay and are caught you not only face prison time but also huge fines compounded daily. You also face automatic deportation.
Not a bad idea.

I agree. It should also be made a felony to enter our country illegally.

If the US was THAT concerned about illegals, they would've done something about it by now. Instead, they've got "immigration reform" on the table. This whole idea that the government will one day deport all illegals and will prevent anchor babies from becoming citizens is just ludicrous. You all are wasting your time by thinking that that's going to happen.
