Let's just put it this way. We are not a Hispanic nation in identity and our national language isn't Spanish. There are only 50 million Hispanics in this country including the illegal kind and 265 million non-Hispanics. So no, we are not a Hispanic country in identity no matter how much you wish it were.

Yep, some of it is the same old thing. We used to have quotas to keep certain nationalities out. It was very controversial. But at least in those days the immigrants who came here were legally here. They had respect for our country and came here through the system that is set up for immigration.
Today we have two sets of standards--those who sneak in and those who play by the rules. I'm married to someone who played by the rules and I resent those who sneaked in for free. My husband was required to have a sponsor or they wouldn't have let him in, he promised not to take anything from the government for the first five years, he had a stringent medical check and got vaccinations, he had a criminal background check. That's the way you're supposed to do it, the honest way.

No it isn't because this topic is about illegal immigration not legal immigration. The objection to illegal immigration for most people has nothing to do with skin color/nationality or race. It's about our laws.
