MOSO311 got it right.
The majority of our illegal immigrants are hispanic. That is why you always hear talk of reaching out to the hispanic community when illegal immigration is mentioned in the news headlines, but we do have illegal immigrants from many countries.

THis is complete junk.

shoot Mexico has stricter imagration policy than America.

People coming here from other countries is a good thing. It helps America. But doing it RIGHT and doing it LEGAL have always been the key.

We can celebrate the Taliban & I am sure some folks do here, but is it American?

So you would support an expansion in the number of Latinos and/or Mexicans that are allowed to LEGALLY immigrate to the United States, right?

If as you claim it is only an issue of illegality, you would have no reason to object to a change in law or policy that makes it legal.

If your statement is true, why do you and the other nativists object so strenuously to the proposed comprehensive immigration reform? If the proposed changes make it legal and your only concern deals with ILLEGAL immigration why would you have a problem with it?

About 62% of illegal immigrants are from Mexico, though Hispanic means a much broader group of people besides those from Mexico. Which Mexican illegal immigrants are about 6.7 million people in this country, which might sound like a lot until you consider our population is 310+ million people.

Also, that means that there are about 5.5 million illegal aliens from other countries living in this country.

Mexicans take the brunt because it is easier for them to be targeted by people who want to get rid of all the illegal aliens in our country. If we pushed out the 6.7 million from Mexico, I am sure people would then continue to ignore the 5.5 million from other countries like they do now.

Taliban is a Islamic political group, so it would be no different than Democrats, Republicans, and Libertarians.

Why can't we import based on skill? That's what Canada and Australia do.

Moving the goalposts.

I want to know why people make the false claim that they only object to illegal immigration.

Because there are laws in place that we all must follow. I don't see how you can change immigration law to allow for LatAm people to come here and not others though. Realistically, the most fair immigration policy would be one that imports people with the skills we need and people that are most likely to succeed.

Canada uses a points based system that gives you more points based on your skill, experience, and language ability.
