No, what is pathetic, is when people try to brush things under the rug. Just because it was decades ago, doesn't mean it isn't relevant now. There is a precedent.

We never learn, do we?
He should have never been president. His "trickle down" economics doesn't work either in a recession.

Yes. Giving illegals amnesty serves wealthy corporate heads just fine, and so does 'trickle down'. Many of our problems can be cooked down to the way we finance our elections, making government leaders beholding to their corporate and wealthy sponsors. It's ruining our nation.

Yes, and that was a mistake on Reagan's part also. He thought only 300,000 would be amnesties when it ended up being 3 million. Congress also promised to secure the border with that amnesty and that never happened. No one is applauding what Reagan did but why is Obama repeating the same mistake with quadruple the number of illegals now and with 23 million Americans out of work?

Exactly.

Definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

One must weigh one cost against the other, to be fair.

Reminds me of the policy the U.S. military has to audit servicemember's "travel pay", which costs far more than the actual travel pay does...
