House takes up own immigration fix, no citizenship

We need reform and we need a more efficient streamlined system. We need laws that reflect the needs of our nation.
Reform should never include rewards for lawlessness or criminal behavior.
Let us hope common sense prevails.

The Dems have already said they will never vote for any bill that does not include rewarding illegals.

If American businesses - small, medium or large - would have never hired illegals in the first place we would never have had this problem. Another thing I've never understood is the automatic citizenship to people born in the country even if the parent(s) is/are illegal. These two things would have stopped immigrants from planning to come here illegally and they would have got in line and did it right. I blame our government 100% for this mess. Republicans and Democrats are the same thing. Rant over.

-Cheers.

I'd like the House to come up with their own bill. It's easy shooting stuff down. Put your ideas on paper and start pushing them.

Business has to do what it has to do. If farmer Fred is using legal labor and farmer Bob across the street hires illegals undercutting Fred's prices he doesn't really have much choice does he? The illegals also drive down the wages so there is very little interest in such jobs.

How about we start enforcing the laws we have before making new ones?

Yes, the laws need to be enforced first and there is absolutely no good reason at all to give them citizenship. If foreigners want to be citizens of this country, they need to follow the legal process and stop thinking that breaking the laws should win them some big reward.

Better to shoot down bad bills than to pass a bill for the sake of passing a bill.
Several smaller bills which directly address the needs of this nation is what is needed. Not a porkster of waste and pandering.

Just to be clear. The House has not said anything yet. They haven't taken up the issue yet. lets let the debate sort the details out.

Just to make a point. I't may not be lawful/constitutional to allow aliens lawful status and allow them to stay and not allow a pathway to citizenship. The court would rule lawful aliens would relagate lawful aliens to a type of second class "citizens".
