China’s embrace of higher wages to help bolster consumer spending has sparked a jump in factories along the east-coast export corridor bringing in undocumented and lower-paid workers from Myanmar and Vietnam.
Border police found 59 illegal immigrants from Vietnam in a bus heading for the Pearl River Delta on July 29, the official Xinhua news agency reported this week. “Thousands” of workers from Vietnam and Myanmar were discovered working illegally in Shenzhen between 2010 and 2012, the China News Service, a state news agency, reported yesterday, citing a local prosecutor.

China Factories Turn to Undocumented Labor as Local Wages Jump - Bloomberg

That's just crazy because China has over 1 billion people.

It's a cheap labor world. The USA of course won't purchase it's goods from China is they aren't produced with near slave labor, just as in the USA, it's much easier for illegals to find work than it is for American citizens.

Agreed. It's already happening with more and more stuff being sold here coming from other places than China, even the US is cheaper in some cases in 2013.

South Korea is already out of the cheap-labor market and like Japan is focusing more on quality auto exports and high tech products. I don't know if China could go that route, GDP is increasing but it's still focused on cheap mass produced, and a raw capitalism/ exploit the workers /exploit-resources-before-someone-else-does mentality.

Well, at least the U.S. and Europe aren't the only places in the world with an illegal alien problem. China is moving up in the world.

China has hit its "wall" because its working age pop is starting to go DOWN in numbers because of the 1 child per family rule from about 1980. IMHO China's gonna be really hurting in about 5 to 10 years with India and a few other low wage places biting it in the butt.
