I swear that I'd pay to know this.

Why some people who are poor, very poor or miserably poor decide to remain even if they make a living of begging or washing windshields in the streets while others decide to migrate even if it's ilegally?

This applies for immigrants who decide to do it illegally from the 4 corners of the world.

What are your thoughts?

id guess it would have something to do with security. if youve been poor your whole life, youre used to it. youre used to the area, and the people. the language and the culture. some people have more of that adventurous side to them. they hear or see opportunity and they are willing to face discomfort for the chance at a better existence.

That might be true because I've heard of rich illegal immigrants who just do it for the sake of adventure, like a guy from Brazil, who took a plane to Mexico, paid an unkown amout of money to some polleros (smugglers) then he paid some thousand dollars to the border patrol officers to let him go and remained in San Diego for 3 years.
