JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel plans to soon begin deporting migrants from Eritrea and Sudan, who number more than 50,000, back to the African continent via Uganda, officials said.

Israel regards most of these Africans as illegal visitors crowding impoverished areas in search of jobs, and largely rejects the position of human rights groups that many fled their countries in search of political asylum.

Israel said planning to deport African migrants to Uganda

Israel's taking care of business.

These people are not migrant workers. They are simply illegals. In my opinion Uganda is attempting to make amends to the situation (Entebbe) that occurred in 1976. It really boggles the mind that anything to do with Israel nearly always becomes front page news, yet when Egypt deals these illegals in their country they shoot them on site and its never brought up or covered by Western media.

Israel is its own nation and can make its own laws. I would be concerned about repatriating people to Eritrea and Sudan, but Israel also has issues with land and resource usage; it simply can't accomodate everyone who wants to live there. It can't even accomodate every Jew on Earth, and we all have the right of return under Israeli law. I know many American Jews who have affirmed their Israeli citizenship but don't live in Israel. (I'm one of them.) Some of us would love to live in Tel Aviv, but we can't afford it!
