The solution to our fiscal problems isn't bringing in immigrants, the solution is cleaning house in Washington and electing to congress men and women who will be fiscally responsible. We need to just stop spending as much money. It's as simple as that.

The US economy has always relied on immigrants.

Did either of you read that Federal reserve paper? It's very revealing since it not only talks about immigration but Social Security, Income taxes, etc.

Someone just pointed it out to me recently but I guess it was written last year.

The solution is not to bring immigrants in. That is already a problem in this country.

Yes: legal immigrants hence the (sometimes) arbitrary rules @ Ellis Island.

Large numbers of illegals is begging for trouble.

imho, maybe the economy benefits from immigration, and it's obvious that immigration has been the secret who has kept the american economy machinery well oiled and working, but to use this an an excuse for the Fed excesses and the US government excesses is a pretty dumb way to convince people that the immigration system could use some improvement.

I've heard rumors all my life that the American Government is bankrupt, yet we still give more than any other country when there is a disaster any where in the world.
