A number of illegal alien women are coming to America to have a baby so that kid can be an American citizen. The kid, an anchor baby, will in many cases protect his/her Mother from deportation. But if the Mother is deported should the US Government force the Mother to take the baby (a US Citizen) home? Or should the State have to pay to bring up the baby if the Mother decides to leave the kid in America?.

Child can stay-------under the condition that said kid is not taken care by the state.

Read that the baby is cared for by family/friends.

Otherwise; kid has to go where its illegal mother came from----------once said child turns age 18, then it (without its relatives) can return to the USA. The only exception is if the mother gave up her rights re: adoption to another family.

More and more I think about it; the 'Ancher baby' law/amendment needs to be changed-------just that those Anchors already here be grandfathered in under the present law. Read that if after Jan 1st, 2009 no more anchors but a kid born here Dec 31st, 2008 or earlier would be exempt

It is abused by illegals that come here to have their children thinking this gives them a free ride in that they will not be deported due to the child being born here.some women come to the U.S. just to have their kids is that not abuse?

you do not feel this law is being abused by illegal women that come here just to have their children?
I know what the states about the child born in the U.S. that is why we need to grandfather the children in, then change the laws.
do you not feel that people have abuse this law for to long now? in we have let them use our own laws against us, does that not anger you as a U.S. citizen?

Sure. I would support changing the law about being born in America makes you an American citizen completely. I'd say everyone that wants to become a citizen, no matter whether or not you were born here, must take the naturalization test and only after proving you have sufficient knowledge of the US are you made a citizen.

...the beauty of this, of course, would be that over half of the dumbasses in this country would cease to be citizens
