St. Louis — An eastern Missouri businesswoman faces sentencing in February after pleading guilty to federal charges of hiring illegal aliens.

Joette Reidy of Washington was an officer of Lochirco Fruit and Produce, which did business as "Happy Apples." In addition to Reidy's felony plea on Tuesday, the company pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of hiring illegal aliens.

I agree with some of the posters after the article. She knowingly hired illegals. It should be a felony. Jail time and the almost 600,000.00

Great news, John . . . although not often enough, this scenario seems to be repeating throughout the country lately.

Thankfully the courts are no longer buying that . . . We were unable to determine their legal status garbage!

Clamping down on the employers of illegals is the best way to begin fixing this ridiculous problem.

As I have opined on in the past:

Even if we were able to toss out just 80% of the illegals; that would be huge.

Side note: as many of you know, I live on the edge of a Latino enclave who are clearly immigrants (or the children thereof).......the residents are showing more and more signs of self deportation to wherever............

I'd rather buy my apples from the guy who sells his apples from the back of the truck.
