Couldn't agree more and just because these 5 were caught doesn't mean that there aren't thousands more like them that haven't been caught doing the same thing. In fact I would bet that is the case.

I am aware that NM allows "illegal aliens" to get driver's licenses but those from other states are committing fraud to get a NM license and that was the point. I doubt that it is only a handful doing it. If NM didn't allow them to get driver's licenses this fraud wouldn't be happening.

NM shouldn't be giving ID's to people who's mere presence is against the law.
Oh my word, 5 people arrested, out of a population of over 2 million, it's practically a crime wave! Whatever shall we do?
The best way to eliminate this problem is for the surrounding states to pass laws similar to New Mexico's 10-year-old law which makes Driver's Licenses available to undocumented immigrants. It is in the public's interest to have them be tested on road knowledge and driving skills, rather than forcing them to drive... and drive they will... without benefit of any license at all.
Whatever shall we do is immediately deport these five for a start.

What the pro illegals seem to missing is that the five illegals who were caught were behaving as all illegals behave. Laws are for other people. They attempted to scam, cheat or lie to get a license. This is in fact a way of life for dishonest people.

Funny, I'd think it would be in the public's best interest to get criminals out of the country, not bend over backwards to make things easier for them. I guess I just don't have a "progressive" enough view.

Your view is spot on. It takes some seriously rose colored glasses to view rewarding criminal behavior as a solution.
