Half of Immigrants in Texas Illegal
FrontBurner » Blog Archive » Half Of Immigrants In Texas Are Illegal
"So says today's report from the anti-immigration Center for Immigration Studies, based on its deductions from census data. That should be no surprise to readers of the print edition of FrontBurner. In February, we reported:
No one knows exactly how many undocumented immigrants live among the 1.2 million residents of the City of Dallas, but the figure can be estimated. Approximately half of Dallas’ 516,000 Hispanics (43 percent of 1.2 million) are immigrants, or 258,000. Only 19 percent are naturalized citizens.."

When they say "naturlized citizens" are they including legal residents? Legal residents aren't illegal. I just wanted to point that out.

It's not an unreasonable assumption; just look at how Dallas's Hispanic population has exploded alongside the explosion of illegal immigration across the USA. Those of us here on the ground in Dallas know what's going on.
Hell, I set foot in Dallas exactly ONE time the entire time I lived abroad, and had not lived here since 1999 when I came back earlier this year. I noticed the change RIGHT AWAY.

Naturalized citizens are US citizens, LPRs are not. LPRs are also known as "green card holders", a.k.a. legal immigrants.

Thanks nD. I guess my point is when they say over half are illegal, and then they talk about only 19 percent being naturalized citizens, it kind of sounds like they are grouping the legal residents (green card holders) in with the illegal crowd. I don't know, but it appears that way. Just food for thought.

The sun is setting on era of disposable labor. We won't have far to transport them (or for them to self deport) in Texas. My guess is they'll head for the few sanctuary states in the midwest which solicit jobs for illegals (Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois).

Nah, I think they're splitting them into three categories: legal, illegal, and naturalized citizen. To me, a naturalized citizen is no longer an immigrant but a full-fledged US citizen but others may feel differently.
I think what they mean is 19% are naturalized US citizens and around 50% are illegals, meaning that the other 31% are legal immigrants of some variety. I suppose this would run the gamut from F1 holders to H1-B holders to LPRs.
