Those convicted of a felony offense and some other crimes are generally not eligible for the program.

It's unclear whether Garcia-Cisneros may be eligible for any other immigration benefits that could lead to relief from deportation. Immigration attorney Courtney Carter, who represents the teen, was not available for a comment.

Oregon teen sentenced to 3 years of probation in fatal leaf-pile accident that killed 2 girls | Fox News

I found this outrageous as well. She left the scene of the accident! She was "sentenced" to probation?

The article states they are looking to see if she has any exemptions from being deported...like what? She killed two children, drove away....does not stand too much like a person we would want to grant any type of consideration to...

She should go to prison --- the problem with deporting these types for very serious crimes, they just get a new set of stolen identification and head right on back over the border.

This is really a problem with our criminal system than an issue with the civil circumstance. No matter your status, only 3 years of probation is ridiculous.

This is why we need to get our borders under control, we don't know who we are letting across our border.

It doesnt mattter if the girls were in leaves or if someone runs into oncoming traffic. She is in trouble because she recruited a criminal to clean up her mess and did not help.

In December, Echeverria was found guilty of hindering prosecution and is currently serving a 13-month sentence.
Despite his prior conviction for first-degree sodomy, the illegal alien was allowed to remain in this country.

I guess it sucks to be an illegal alien trying to get to the US from Mexico in 2014. LOL!
