GEORGIA IS SETTING a record that most legal residents would rather not see etched in stone, but in reality it already has been. The state has one of the fastest growing illegal alien populations in the United States; it has tripled in slightly more than a decade.

According to U.S. Census Bureau figures reported by Cox News Service, the immigrant population has grown from an estimated 268,000 in 1995 to 378,000 in 2000 to 953,000 in 2007. Of those 953,000 Hispanics — from Mexico, Central America and South America — who call Georgia home, some 53 percent of them, or 504,000 people, are here illegally. Only Arizona and North Carolina have a higher proportion of illegal aliens in their populations.

All that needs to be done is to strip them of their assets and have the SCOTUS readdress the anchor baby issue, and eventually they'll leave. If they're allowed to continue to profit from their illegal activities, there's no reason for them to go home.

Simply start taking paychecks, cars, household items, houses. Then wait for them to go to work again, and then simply take that paycheck as well.

Seriously, the solution is very simple. Build a fence from California to Mexico, put the military on the border with orders to defend America, and seize assets.

And people don't think we need heavy handed legistation? Here's proof of what happens when we don't get tough. Sit back and watch or do something.

I suspect that a lot of state legislatures are watching closely what Arizona and Oklahoma are doing.......

Hopefully; the Feds are getting the hint as well.

Interesting post, John

There are many Carpet and Fabric Mills in Northwest Georgia . . . probably the major attraction.

I could not agree more, Hawkeye!

A SHOOT TO KILL approach at the border would get the message out that the game is over to the "newbies" and SEIZING property would encourage the ones already here illegally to go home!

For some reason; it may not come to a 'shoot to kill' order------especially if self deportation eliminates 80-90% of the illegals already present here in the USA.

Most of us (including myself) would have little problem with 1-2 million illegals scattered across the USA provided they otherwise stayed under the radar, so to speak.

I thought Georgia had passed tough immigration laws? Have they not taken effect yet?
