Tennessee News, Investigation: Plant A Magnet For Illegal Immigrants.
SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. - A hidden camera investigation conducted by NewsChannel 5 revealed Springfield's biggest employer may be the biggest offender when it comes to hiring undocumented immigrants.
Electrolux is one of the largest manufacturing plants in Middle Tennessee.
It employs thousands of workers.
But a NewsChannel 5 investigation uncovered some disturbing facts about many of those employees.
From city leaders to factory employees, several people said the same thing about Electrolux. They said illegal immigrants, not Americans, comprise a large portion of its workforce.

I wish I could say I was shocked. Especially about the part where workers are fired and they get rehired onto another shift simply by purchasing another fake ID.
It sounds to me like a lot of managers, executives and workers need to go to prison.

You have to ask yourself, how on earth does a company do anything like background checks and so forth. The whole thing is such a mess.
How can anyone think identity theft is a good thing?

The corporation is not interested in doing background checks, the company is only interested in exploiting the cheap labor.
The corporation hires through independent contractors so they can't be held responsible for 'hiring irregularities'.
Those contractors will get busted and the company will form some new contractors to take their place.
Meanwhile the assets of the corporation can't be touched by any legal seizure as a result of prosecution, (should that even be attempted).
The company will skate and they'll be right back to the same practice as soon as the focus is directed elsewhere.
Electrolux is a huge multi-national corporation. You ought to see how they treat workers in their Chinese plants, or their Australian plants.
Isn't unregulated corporate greed grand? Long live the free markets.....

From the CEO to the plant manager to the manager responsible for hireing should all get a nice cell in a max security prison. Forfeit their assets and be fined into poverty. They have no valid excuses.

I'm glad the TV station is doing this expose' - I wish more would do the same. Too afraid of the 'r' word here...

I don't 'sickening' is the correct term. But ICE is only here to ease anti-illegal tensions. Its basically like giving the kid his candy for a while, when it runs out they cry. And then ICE comes again to repeat the cycle.
