The Illegals are leaving PL - at least in AZ

Employers are firing illegals

Benefits are being denied

Kids are being taken out of school

Reports of increased traffic going INTO Mexico

Reduction in illegals coming into the United States - the fence is starting to work

Other states are now following the same path

Jess5,

The importance of illegal immigration far outweighs the negatives. The United States has a huge hole in workers in some very important sectors. I have lived in California much of my life, and have never seen any white women making hotel rooms. I have seen probably eight white men doing construction and have never seen any white men cooking in any of the restraunts in California. Arizona is much like California, numerous illegal immigrants who work menial jobs. The white people who do these same jobs I mentioned in Arizona are scarce. With the next generation of kids looking for white collar jobs, there will always be less people looking to do these jobs. The unemployment rate in Arizona is 4.7% and illegal immigrants make up 10% of the workforce in Arizona. This is a disaster for the state, whoever constructed the Arizona anti-illegal immigration law wasn't a businessman. The state is looking at a huge job recession, and I still have no idea how those jobs are going to be filled. Businesses could go bankrupt left and right, and businesses could be scared away from Arizona. I could only imagine what's going to happen to Arizona's tourism, i.e. Grand Canyon.

Ok you want to talk Oklahoma. One man in Oklahoma said he will not have a watermelon crop this year. Another rural Oklahoman said he usually receives thirty applications to pick fruit, this year he's only received nine. One man stated his construction company has lost almost all of his workers. Another person said Oklahomans will have to pay $20,000 more for new homes built. Many Latinos legal or illegal have left the hotel industry, and the restraunt industry is suffering. The Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce opposes HB1804.

A) You probably have not stayed at many hotels

B) You probably need new glasses

Lots of "white women" Moderator cut: personal attack work in these area of hotels -

And, there is no "HUGH HOLE IN WORKERS" - that is a blatant misrepresentation bordering on a Lie -

GreatDay I would appreciate it if you could take it down a few notches.

By white people, I meant American workers. Sorry, no offense.

We will take our chances.

Remember: the same fire that melts butter makes steel strong; maybe us Americans finding our courage again will be a good thing.

I have spent the night at many hotels ranging from Reno to Las Vegas. Never seen an American cleaning out hotel rooms unless of course you stay at those inns in the middle of no where, where the illegal population is slim to non-existent.

"From Reno to Las Vegas"? OK

Being that I am from Las Vegas - that am in MANY of the Las Vegas casino resorts and, due to my work, am often in Reno, Lake Tahoe, Carson City, I can tell you that I see Hispanics (legal) and Anglos cleaning rooms all the time

Heck PL - in Las Vegas, if you are a Maid in one of the larger properties, you are more than likely making in excess of 50K per year.

Excellent post ProLogic, I have the same observations. Greatday I'm curious where in the heck maids make 50K a year, can you provide stats on that. I've been to Las Vegas probably 10 times in my life, and have only seen Latino women cleaning the hotel rooms in Las Vegas. Yes from the Penthouse to the Outhouse hotels, from a Rio Suite to Super 8.
