I have lived in Arizona my whole life and I love the new law! I have seen the town that my grandparents, parents and I grew up in be destroyed by illegal immigrants and have seen them bring in drugs, gangs, and no money to my city.
I think we will improve with the new law because illegals will have to take their children with them and so now only tax payers children will be in the schools and have the chance at an education that they deserve. Business will be fine because with less people in the state they will need less employees. They will be fine because they should have NEVER gotten the extra business or employment from illegals if we had just enforced our laws in the first place.
As a legal citizen maybe I might just get the help from the state that I need and can't get because they are streched so thin because of illegals who go to the emergency and can't pay their bill and then dissapear. Maybe my friend would be able to get the loan she needs for school if there aren't illegals to steal her Social Security Number and ruin her good name and credit!
And most important of all we will finally be following the LAW! And punishing people who break it!

I personally don't mind if your against illegal immigration, but this thread is about the economic implications of anti-illegal immigration bills. Let's try to stay on topic.

Here's a good article about Oklahoma.

I am smiling come Jan 1st, 2008

As has been posted in the past; especially with a recession blowing in the wind, the 'labor shortages' will not be that bad

That article was about business interests, not Oklahoma. Show me an article that covers costs to taxpayers, school systems, hospitals, jails, the court system, etc., and then you'll have an "article about Oklahoma."

Regardless, the cries of impending economic doom from pro-illegals are as false as those from Southern plantation owners when slavery was abolished.

Your .... "concerns" are not shared by people in the State of AZ - you might as well save your breath -

Fact is - there is not going to be any economic problem -

Sorry to disappoint you

I catch your drift........

And to run further with the ball; only about 2% of Southern Whites (and a few Blacks in Louisiana) were slave owners.

The county attorneys announced today that they will begin enforcing the new law Jan 1 and that the law does allow retroactive hires to be included.

Good deal and AZ should be proud of themselves.

Texas and California have the largest illegal population, this is why I say I'll believe it when I see it.
