No, it won't be a day laborer taking these jobs. It will be people who trained as doctors and nurses in their own countries.
Who more than likely came here quite legally to work. OP said undocumented, they are not.

In fact, said illegals, not just the better sounding undocumented. They aren't "illegals".

People with a federal taxpayer id number are not illegals! They are a world apart. They are here and working legally, if not citizens. They are documented.
That is not correct. The IRS does not enforce immigration law and routinely grants ITINs to illegals. Many illegals have ITINs.

Did you read any of the rest of the article? The entire point of the bill is to allow illegals to work as health care professionals. Some illegals do have ITINs as others have so eloquently pointed out.

What is that supposed to mean?

"Undocumented" immigrants are breaking the law by their mere presence in the country. They are all violating the law and subject to civil penalties and deportation. Most are criminals, as coming in to the country illegally (or "without documentation" if you prefer) is a crime in and of itself and many of the ones who overstayed on a visa are committing a plethora of assorted other crimes.

Actually you're better off not using these illegal doctors.

It goes on here where I live. Unlicensed medical practitioners, curanderos practice medicine and charge patients out of their apartments all the time, unlicensed dentists provide dental services from their home or trailer. It's pretty much allowed because it wouldn't be politically correct to arrest anyone from Mexico or other Central American nations.

They are not here legally to work -- it's not legal to work without medical licenses -- but it's allowed because of the ethnic group involved. If a German were to practice medicine without a license, it would be a big deal.

Very often they come here with those cheap border crossing cards, so technically they crossed the border legally, then they don't go home in the required 2 or 3 days but stay and do whatever they want.

Uh; nothing wrong with saying lawbreakers are "lawbreakers". Illegal aliens ARE lawbreakers and most are criminals counting ID theft, fake SSN's and so on.

Of course being aware that currently in the United States, a quarter of all doctors are foreign-born, and a third of all nurses...
