They first want to import tech workers to lower price of them.We have all read where they are accused of fixing employment by agreeing not to hire each others employees; lowering need to compete. Of course; they also want cheap service to cut their grass and maids. etc. No angels as they like to portray their image. Elitism often seen in past; no different.
They are all liars when they whine about a supposed shortage of STEM/IT workers. Sadly, politicians on both sides of the aisle fall for the lies. Perhaps if they did their homework, they would see through this charade.

It's not justs the "Silicon Valley", it's the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and just about every other business-representative organization in the USA. The majority of Americans polled on the topic seem to be in agreement on the need for reform, also.

Where's the "reform" in any of the proposals? It would still be against the law to come here illegally. What's being "reformed" ?
Actually it's because they are interested in intelligent foreign people who studies in the US but had to come back because staying in the US was too complicated/not possible, and the reform would make much easier for them to stay (green card easier to get for foreigners who graduated in a US university more precisely).

No, actually, they are interested in hiring H1-Bs because it is akin to indentured servitude. They are made to work long hours with the promise of a green card dangled in front of them.
Meanwhile, we have thousands of unemployed American citizen STEM/IT workers. If we ever get to the point that American citizen STEM/IT workers are fielding several job offers, then, fine, bring in visa workers with the intent that they go home if the STEM/IT job market tanks.
As for exceptionally bright and talented foreign students, there is a separate visa program for them.
