The Department of Homeland Security dropped off some 140 immigrants — mostly women and children — at the Tucson Greyhound station this weekend, leaving them to find their own way to their destination cities across the country...A handful of local volunteers with Casa Mariposa have responded by visiting the station every night. They provide food, phone calls, and often open their home for families to spend the night when they are unable to get a bus ticket....“We don’t know what’s happening, it can be that they are told that if they come with children they are likely to be released for humanitarian reasons,”...Art del Cueto, president of the local Border Patrol union chapter in the Tucson sector, said when agents ask people they just apprehend why they are coming, they often mention they heard about amnesty.

It seems like we are going to be overrun if we don't do something. If Border Patrol can't handle the influx than we need troops on the border.

Yes, it's a good thing the illegal alien problem started under Obama... oh, wait... no, it didn't... it goes back to even before that idiot Dubya was in office.

Maybe if more effort was made to clamp down on the corporations that hire and exploit this cheap labor, we wouldn't have such a problem with illegal aliens... but that would cut into corporate profits, and since big business runs and owns the show in this nation, nothing will be done.

We now return to you to your regularly scheduled partisan politics.

Anyone at this point who is still "wondering" why the illegal immigrant situation will NEVER be effectively addressed hasn't spent an ounce of effort or a minute of time really analyzing it.

It's nothing more than another facet of corporate welfare.

Face it, folks. Corporations own me, you, your family, and everyone you know.

Our role has been reduced to that of consumer.

The amnesty thing is NOT about labor, it's about VOTES!

This post is utter bull tripe. Most illegal immigrants aren't hired by "corporations." Corporations don't hand out cash wages. Most big corporations use E-verify. Small businesses, on the other hand, don't use E-verify and many will pay under the table. Further, most illegal immigrants come here with the HOPE to get hired. Basically, they weigh the risk vs. the reward. The risk is getting caught. The reward is that the US government turns a blind eye, which allows those illegals to move unfettered to their own personal utopia. Because our government does in fact turn a blind eye, the reward far outweighs the risk, and that's why illegals come here. They have very little reason not to.

Your argument is obtuse, tired, worn out, and largely inaccurate.

I love our brain dead policy where we give them 15 days to report back to ICE and expect them to show up why are we not shipping them back over to Mexico?

Is there an echo in the room? There are two discussions of this same thing on the Illegal Immigration Forum, one of which you started.

They're Democratic voters once they step across the border.

We just moved from the Southwest, and three different friends of ours there just recently said there has been a big huge influx of illegals coming in lately.
We can't depend on either party to fix this - Dems want the Hispanic votes and Repubs want the cheap labor.
Not until the American people DEMAND a change will we see the media and the politicians get serious.

If you are concerned about this, you need to take the time to write your state and federal congressman. I worked in politics, and A handful of written letters goes a long way with influencing these guys.
