In any case, almost all reputable studies have found illegal immigrants are a net benefit to the economy. What they put into the economy by paying rent, buying food, paying sales taxes, etc. exceeds what they receive in the way of public service by a wide margin. Best estimates are that illegal immigrants put about $3 into into the U.S. economy for every $1 they take out. Google it if you want details.
There is no way I will believe that illegal immigrants benefit this country. The problem is they will work for such low wages that they have made it impossible for an American to survive on the pay. Most Americans don't live 3 families to a house and survive on beans and rice.

I blame the companies hiring the illegals as well as the illegals themselves. Companies may complain that no American wants to do the jobs they have available and so need to hire illegals. The real problem is that no American wants to do the job for the ridiculously low pay they are offering, but the illegals will snap up those jobs and keep the wages low.

A lot of the blue collar jobs have been taken over by illegals, and rather than spending their paychecks in this country, send most of their wages back to their own country. Some benefit.

Those here legally have paid.
Large fees on remittances could be a start.

Illegal immigration benefits two distinct groups. The illegals themselves and their extended family, the dirtbag employers.

Or, we won't.

Maybe I didn't make it clear. I meant to target those who seek entry legally.

Employers need to be targeted.

Yes. It's their country and they should be held responsible.

Yes, employers should be fine heavily. I'd favor $100,000 per illegal hired.

Why is that? Mexico chose not to secure the border. Most illegals are Mexicans. Why should the Mexican people and their government not be held responsible?
