Of course, and compared to the costs ensued by allowing illegal aliens in here the wall is cheaper. There is no plan to wall in the entire border either. About 800 miles of it was approved by congress which is would be on the most porous parts of the border. The BP can then focus on the less porous areas.

And this multi billion dollar wall will solve your problem with illegals? IMO it will just get those illegals that normally cross the current fence to find alternate methods to achieve their goals.
Oldglory if you were a Mexican would this proposed wall stop you from entering the USA if thats where you saw your future?
Personally i'd be one of those crossing legally and just end up staying, or take a vacation to Canada and just walk into the USA from some point along 5500 miles of undefended border.
If you want a fence i'd say the best bang for the buck would be the electrified chain link fence with razor wire top and bottom/

The Berlin Wall certainly served its purpose until the political climate changed, didn't it? I already explained over and over in here that it was to be built on 800 miles of the most porous parts of the border and that the BP can then focus on the less porous areas. Why do I have to keep repeating myself until some get it? Or maybe they just don't want to get it?

I wouldn't matter what nation I were from I would never violate another country's immigration laws. I would build a future in my own country and fight for change. I would never be selfish enough to take from the rightful citizens of a country to give to mine. That's just not right.

The fence breeds a false sense of security. The drug dealers have been building tunnel under it for years. Limited fences and movable electronic detection equipment, along with drones would be cheaper. Our military needs the training in detection equipment and flying drones anyway, so kill two birds with one stone.

Agreed tho word is many illegal aliens and drug mules now stay OUT of Cali because of the fence there, it's gotten too risky to try to run it or even tunnel under it so they try to cross from here in Arizona.

Drug smugglers are quite creative in their efforts to get drugs to Americans, i doubt a wall will slow them down..

It's not just drug smugglers that are the concern. It is also terrorists, criminals and those wanting to steal economic opportunity from our own citizens.

Uh; the Berlin Wall stopped MOST crossings of people and stuff, so a wall backed up by armed soldiers would work well.

Building a 96 mile Berlin wall around half a city in Germany is in no way comparable to building an 1800 mile wall between USA and Mexico,,
Even if this $8 billion wall is built there are just too many ways around it,through it or over it.
So go ahead and build the wall and be prepared to be amazed at how little it affects the American illegal alien issue.
