20 Years ago they used an armed SWAT team to catch Elian Gonzalez and send him back to Cuba. Now they ignore thousands of these kids and pay to babysit them. Yes, the government is officially @#$%^! up.

Funny you mentioned Elian Gonzalez. Several hundred of these illegal minors were sent to Miami and put into the schools. Miami is now asking the Fed for extra money because of this.
These children got moved there a few months ago so it seems this has been going on for longer than we know of.

Watch more schools step up to ask for extra money over and above what the Fed sends already.
They are going to need to get portables and extra teachers in order to absorb all these kids.

The biggest problem -- the more we throw money at the problem and refuse to enforce any immigration laws, the bigger this problem becomes. The taxpayers in the USA don't need the large and fast growing welfare classes of every other nation.

Not sure I buy that. I'll believe it when I see it happen. And we should've been announcing to other countries long ago, like Biden will do now, that if you enter here illegally and we catch you, you are not going to stay. This also brings up the fact that our government has continued to fail in its obligation to secure our borders. Put troops down their now while a fence and other measures are put in place.

The current Administration said they could stay in the first place. If it wasn't for them the situation would not exist

Here is the thing: by even the government's own estimates a majority of these illegal minors have parents and or family in the United States that arranged and or at least knew of their planned arrival on these shores. Once these children are released to their parents/family there is much less of a chance they will be deported, and as time goes by that number drops to nil.

Many families of these children are already lawyered up and filing asylum claims, and or intend to do so. That process including exhausting all possible appeals can take years, so long in fact that a six year old child now will be in high school or perhaps even going to college before all is said and done.

In the mean time *all* these children by SCOTUS rulings and federal/local laws are entitled to free public primary and secondary education, healthcare, and often other forms of assistance. This regardless of their parents immigration status (or lack thereof) and so forth.

It isn't just Texas, Arizona, California and New York that are and or will feel the effects. Due to illegal immigrants spreading out all over the USA states like Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Georgia and so forth will become involved as well.

If even a third of these illegal minors are eventually returned to their home countries it will be a miracle. In the meanwhile federal estimates are that nearly 100K more will enter the USA by the end of next year.

Unfortunately this is the sad truth.

Obama is right that is the law. I have a hard time believing parents let their kids do that .I would think Mexico would responding with help to return them especially the younger ones. Its a outrage they got this far. Where are all those Mexican political groups demonstrating all the time when these kids need help?

I posted a link..Miami has had them for months now. They were put into the Miami schools until school ended.
This is not something that just happened.

I'd like to know just how long this has been going on with no MSM news about it.
