I get a kick out of the Candidates for public office who run on a anti illegal immigration platform. They say vote for me and I will stop illegal immigration.

I doubt anyone in the public eye other than the Supreme Court actually can make any difference when it comes to illegal immigration. All laws, local, state or federal that have to do with illegal immigration will be taken to court. The supporters of an open border have almost unlimited resources to fight each and every law, policy or decision made about illegal immigration. They can hold up enforcement of any law for years in appeals. By the time it is finally decided they will challenge the case all over again with new arguments and plaintiffs. In the mean time the border is essentially open.

I agree the illegal alien issues will be settled at the Supreme Court. The difference is Bush appointed two very conservative justices. All those 5 - 4 issues that were decided on a liberal slant now will go the other way.

This I will say: I consider myself to be an Old School Liberal; yet, the illegal immigrants are living proof that I will step over to the 'other side' in full support of closing/locking the borders to most immigration with few exceptions.

Actually, an "Old School Liberal" would be expected to oppose illegal immigration based on his support for American blue collar workers. An old school liberal/Democrat is a supporter of organized labor, and illegal immigrants are basically scabs. An unlimited supply of labor renders workers powerless to make demands, and this alone should steer an old school Democrat to oppose illegal immigration.

Really..liberals and so called "feminists" and environmentalists should be fighting with the best of the conservatives on this issue. Barbara Jordan defended the American worker against the cheaper labor across the border...what happened to the BLACK DEMOCRAT?

I just met with an "old school lib" Hillary-supporting friend last weekend; she brought up the subject of the "undocumented" and stated the usual bs about no American would work those jobs, blah blah - I told her there were plenty of Americans who WOULD work those jobs, for a CORRECT wage. This is coming from a woman who teaches corporate law - yeah I know, the IRONY. Since she is a friend, I didn't point out to her how flawed her logic was in supporting the further EXPLOITATION of these "hard workers" who work for pennies on the dollar. I don't see how these illegal-loving, ivy league, living-in-a-cocoon-miles-from-reality-of what-is-now-Los-Angeles Dems can go to sleep at night, supporting the financial rape of the working poor - legal and illegal. I guess they don't understand that a big chunk of America doesn't teach corporate law, but are on the other end of the corporate shaft.

I think it's going to come down to the States, cities, counties making their own laws, as they have been doing. And, I think that eventually, that will work against illegal immigrants whether they have supporters or not. In cities, or counties, or states, you have local government, which is more powerful for that particular area, and they don't CARE what the federal government is saying, or what some group like LaRaza has to say.

Do not dispair. We will win in the end, and save our country, piece by piece.
