These stories are popping up now .... people finding out that the Federal Government is trying to settle these "children" in their Towns, Cities, States.

I've already posted about Baltimore, a town in Virginia and Buffalo, NY.
The latest is South of Chicago. It's a probably worthwhile to keep track of the NIMBY areas.

HHS CONSIDERS OLYMPIA FIELDS FACILITY FOR UNACCOMPANIED IMMIGRANT CHILDREN - Illinois Review, 6/21/14

A former Monastery in a South Suburb of Chicago. 18,000 sq feet of Residential space.

Hultgren called for the effort to halt, saying moving the children to Olympia Fields will only make matters worse for the children.

"We should immediately halt this effort. It is an ill-conceived stop gap solution that will only exacerbate the terrible situation for these children," Hultgren said. "Moving these children further away from the border unnecessarily elongates their legal limbo at orphanage-style federal facilities while they undergo removal proceedings."

"Who will pay for the care, lodging and feeding of the children who will be moved to Olympia Fields, farther and farther away from their parents in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras? Who will be responsible for this children without legal guardians?" Wallace asked. "Will it be the federal, state or village of Olympia Fields and local taxpayers?"

They are correctly concerned about the burden of educating these "children" (up to age 17, including Narco Gang Members).

It all sounded so great when they would be housed in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Oklahoma .... not such a great thing when it turns out that Buffalo, Chicago, Baltimore are the destinations. NIMBY!!!

And once there, will be released to be lost in the general population. It's a farce that the administration thinks these people will show up at their deportation hearings.

Most never show or, leave the US.

This winter while I was visiting Miami I read 25 letters or, more from different people that gave them six weeks to leave the US.

They are still here.

That is how Obama deports.

The WH was asked how many of those released showed up.
Neither the WH nor DHS had any numbers.

Why should the people show up ? There's no penalty, no fear of deportation, no fear of being hunted down and no fear of being turned in.

Gullible Americans are being fed a crock.

It's going to be a whole lot of money spent to educate them but for the most part, that will be wasted money. The drop out rates are incredibly high even with schools serving as little more than free feeding stations enticing the parent to send the child to school at least to get in on 2 free meals that lets the parent sell food stamps to spend on themselves.

Yes...I know a few educators and some have stated that some elementary school sections are little more than daycare centers; the parents aren't engaged and send the kids to school unprepared with no supplies. They try to talk to the parents who of course don't speak English despite having been here for years. Some of the children make it all the way through elementary school without a firm grasp on English.

I understand that some won't speak English at all until kindergarten; this was the case in my family and we didn't suffer any side effects from that. I didn't even speak English fluently until I started school, and I'm second-generation American. But by Thanksgiving of my kindergarten year, it wasn't an issue.

Bilingual education only goes to 5th grade though.
What about all these illegal minors that will be in MS and HS not speaking any English ?

The best way to learn a language is NOT to get much help.

When you have to know......you will learn.....I have been on both sides of this.

Agreed. Immersion works well for most people. Ask an American who gets tossed in jail in Mexico: he'll learn Spanish real fast.

Unfortunately, the entire US will soon become the illegal aliens' gigantic backyard (aka cesspool).
