Obama abandons immigration reform for executive actions on border

Quote:
President Obama has abandoned his year-long effort to reach an immigration reform deal with congressional Republicans, announcing instead a series of executive actions to respond to what he called a "humanitarian crisis" on the US's southern border.

A visibly frustrated Obama said in a Monday afternoon appearance that he was now instructing the Department of Justice to draw up a list of measures he can take without legislation in Confress - m
easures almost certain to provoke a fierce response from critics who accuse him of overstepping presidential powers ...
All hail the king.

Tell congress to get off their butts and do something. You seem to like these idiots sitting on their hands letting the country go to ****. Good on the president taking action. As he said congress needs to do its job and there will be no need for Executive action.

I'd have to disagree. We need to be protecting our borders, and that is any president's responsibility. Obama has no business making decisions on his own. He needs to learn to work with Congress.

That's awesome! Especially since his policies have always been meant to help a situation and never has a political agenda.

Plus, he's such a great decision maker.

We need a constitutional amendment to address immigration reform. Let states help enforce immigration laws, let border states help secure the border, and end birthright citizenship.

You have to love the over board rhetoric from Obama " our economy and country would be better today if the {R}s allowed a simple yes or no vote". So our economy improves when people run across the border and we spend treasure we do not have supporting them? how does having basically a unsecured border improve our country? where is the 2 billion Obama wants to spend coming from?

Obama does realize that congress is not in session and most likely on the campaign trail and most do not want to stick their necks out taking a position on immigration reform.

Obama is only moving because of the reality that the illegals are flooding our borders.. too little too late Obama...It is getting too noticeable.

The government doesn't know quite what to do with thousands upon thousands of illegals and the pressure is on because of the crisis burden our government is facing. It is like,, hey, We have to finally do something to keep the illegals from flooding our country..
Obama is classic communist liberal... taking our sovereignty away and blurring our borders.

Will the last Mexican citizen turn the lights out when you leave for the United States.
