DALLAS Air Force One brought President Obama to Dallas for a quick visit Monday only two hours, just long enough for a short motorcade to nearby Highland Park.

Well-heeled Democrats shelled out between $10,000 and $100,000 to attend a private affair with the president. The cash raised is aimed at helping Democrats nationwide.

We are honored that the President of the United States is in Dallas, said Domingo Garcia, a Dallas attorney and Hispanic rights activist. He's dealing with some of the national issues that are impacting our country: Jobs, health care, immigration reform and national security.

The meet-and-greet was held at the home of major Democratic supporter Russell Budd. The media were kept at a distance, with not even a pool camera permitted to record the proceedings.

Republicans staged a freedom rally of their own at nearby Franklin Stadium, but attendance was sparse. The party said it was not a response to the president's visit, but some participants certainly took it that way.

I feel like our liberties are being taken away every single day, said Michelle Smith, who carried a sign pledging allegiance to the U.S. Constitution. They're forcing us to pay for health care, and that's not the right of the federal government We need to stand up for the rights of United States citizens.

Those who did see the president called his brief talk inspirational, and said it generated a major cash infusion to help Democrats in their effort to keep Congress under their control.

Oh thank God!

BarryO From The Barrio™ has just vowed to secure the border. I tell you, we should let him just stay in the White House until at least 2024. He's a man of his word, and ALWAYS follows through.

Oh, yeah, that's right.........he actually lies and never follows through. My bad.

But this was shocking: 28 minutes ago, this story just hit The New York Times website. Apparently, "all the news that's fit to print" doesn't include anything about the illegal alien situation, because until this story went up, the NYTimes had exactly ZERO mention of the follies of BarryO From The Barrio on their site today.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/10/us...=top-news&_r=0

DALLAS — President Obama vowed Wednesday after meeting with Texas officials to secure the state’s border with Mexico while treating the surge of Central American children with compassion.

The president called on Congress to quickly approve $4 billion to bolster enforcement efforts along the border with Mexico, accusing his Republican critics of talking tough about immigration while allowing election-year politics to block rapid approval of the spending that would back the talk up with real action.

“Is Congress prepared to act to put the resources in place to get this done?” Mr. Obama said here in Dallas. “Are folks more interested in politics, or are they interested in solving the problem? If the preference is for politics, then this won’t be solved.”

Turns out that Obama didn't know ANYTHING about this situation, and then saw something in the media about it.......or something like that.

Barely 5% of that $3.7 billion is going to "secure the border".
The bulk of that money is going to feed, house, transport and take care of the hundreds of thousands of illegals that will be staying here in the US.

Great posts, folks. Could someone scour today's headlines and post? I'm having tech difficulties w/ 'net and computer.
I wanted to post info from CNN's video interview of Gov. Perry after his meeting w/ "O" yesterday and comment on the "slant" of the journalist.
Also, wanted to post breaking news on "O's" supposed action to close the border. Can anyone find and post?

"O" keeps trying to blame Congress, when he and his admin screwe
d up the Dream act in 2012. Is anyone willing to pursue that?

I cant do much w/ my cell phone for all of this info....many thanks!

In California we have smog checks in selected urban areas and a gross polluter hot line to call in to report vehichles with severe exhaust problems.

Last night the local news in San Diego had a report with a retired DVM employee claiming that under Brown, they were ordered not to follow up on any complaints involving vehichles that turned out to be registered in Mexico, even when the state had documents showing they were permanently residing in California.

Default Today's News- We're becoming overwhelmed

OK- some headlines for today, and then news about Gov. Perry's trip to the border.

Source - Texas immigrant flood will worsen, officials warn - CNN.com

Title - Texas immigrant flood will worsen, officials warn By Tom Cohen, CNN

The money "O" says he's requested to address the border problems only has 10% set aside for it!!!!

direct quote - "Overall, it amounts to about 10% of the $30 billion in proposed border security funding included in the immigration reform bill"

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Source - Obama administration warns money low to deal with migrant crisis | Reuters

Title - Obama administration warns money low to deal with migrant crisis - By Richard Cowan and Julia Edwards -

direct quote - " We're not giving the president a blank check," said Boehner, leader of the Republican-controlled House.
Boehner said the House should act on some sort of immigration legislation this month. He has formed a working group of lawmakers to study options."

-As I mentioned above, the request for billions is filled with other "amnesty" bills and other stipulations that are either "fluff", or not immediately addressing this attack on our border

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Source - Many children crossing US border illegally will get to stay, data suggests | Fox News

Title -Many children crossing US border illegally will get to stay, data suggests

direct quote: "According to Justice Department figures seen by The Wall Street Journal, in fiscal year 2013, immigration judges ordered 3,525 children to be deported, with an additional 888 allowed to return home voluntarily. These numbers pale in comparison with the number of juveniles apprehended, amounting to between 23,000 and 47,000 children apprehended annually in each of the last five years."

The reason is, it further states, is that there's a 1-3 year backlog in court dates, we've run out of funds to address this in the courts, and then, the illegals simply move and don't show up!!!

This system isn't working, folks! It must be abolished. We cannot take in ALL of the kids in the WORLD!!! We shouldn't be a NANNY STATE!!!!

Lightbulb News flash from the texas border

I hope everyone watched Hannity last night - on both sides of the aisle. This is NOT a political issue, it is one of our NATIONAL SECURITY being breached!!!

source - - Hannity at the Border | The Sean Hannity Show

Title - Hannity at the Border (with Gov. Perry)

direct quote - "Another amusing excuse from this president is that he's not interested in photo-ops, which is a reason why he didn't visit the border. Even CNN pointed out the absurdity of that excuse; this presidency is nothing but one big photo-op. In fact, leading up to his trip in Texas, Obama was engaged in a series of absurd photo-ops in Colorado – drinking beer with the Governor, shaking hands with a guy in a horse mask – yet he can't be bothered to be photographed at our border, witnessing a real problem?
Even Democrats are calling this decision and its optics “bizarre” and seemingly “detached.”

Also, do you know how much this debacle has already cost us? And WILL cost us, in the short term??? Well, here it is:
The Washington Free Beacon reports, “The federal program for Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC)—which provides long-term foster care, apparel, and interpreter services for thousands of young illegal immigrants, the majority of which are placed in the United States—has already cost $263 million this year.” The program is on pace to spend $1 billion this year."

Summary of Facts from Border Patrol Briefing with Gov. Perry, and Interview with Border Patrol Agent, Hector Garza (speaking on behalf of the peer group of Border Agents)

***Please note...I furiously wrote notes watching the Border Patrol Official Briefing and the interview with Hector Garza. These are my DIRECT QUOTES from these people...not Hannity, Gov. Perry, or anyone else BUT the Border Patrol Agents and Mr. Hector Garza.

1. 624,000 crimes BY ILLEGALS were perpetrated against our own American citizens living at or near the Texas border over the past 7 years. They include; robbery, burglary, home invasions, rapes, and murder.

2. Potential terrorists and people from countries on our watch list have been seen or apprehended...over 600 from Yemen, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc.

3. Agents have seen or caught drug smugglers, human traffickers, gang members, and cartels in alarming numbers, rising in the past year alone.

4. The Cartels and Terrorists identified on the border are using advanced military tactics and weapons!

Hector Garza said:

1. Our fed administration has been "aiding and abetting these criminals" to the detriment of our Border Agents.

2. We have seen a huge increase in "OTM's -other than Mexicans", including "people from Pakistan, Yemen, etc. who are give a FREE PASS into our country".

3. "O" is letting people in that "broke the law", and "even have attacked our Border Agents".

4. He has seen a rise in the "military tactics" by illegals, and "even the Mexican Military" shoot at us!!!

5. "O" is "aiding and abetting" the illegal cycle breaking the law in that these people "are processed, then forgotten about."

6. "Resources are dry" and "morale is LOW" amongst the Border Agents.

7. The border is "unsecured right now" because 70% of the Agents have been reassigned to "processing kids".

8. "THE BORDER IS VERY POROUS RIGHT NOW!"

If this doesn't scare or motivate you, I don't know what else will.
Comments are welcomed...from both sides of the debate. Please just be civil, and provide sources and commentary.
More to come...

Default John Quincy Adam's Birthday - Quotes to Ponder for today

Today is John Quincy Adam’s Birthday. He was a fantastic statesman, and became our 6th President of the United States.

(July 11, 1767 – February 23, 1848) was an American statesmanwho served as the 6th President of the United States from 1825 to 1829. He also served as a diplomat, a Senator and member of the House of Representatives. He was a member of the Federalist Democratic-Republican National Republican, and later Anti-Masonic parties.)

Source - John Quincy Adams - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

***Men of his principle and ilk arejust about extinct these days.

We cannot forget, for posterity’s sake, all of his work and toil to ensure the safety and positive progression of our country or her ideals.

If we do, then we are truly lost, andwill become the third-world countries we are trying to take in, in vain.

Please read his wisdom in the quotes below, and mull over his meanings…both in context of his times, as well as how they might apply to our government’s actions right now, as well as with regard to the border crisis, especially.

Quotes by John Quincy Adams:

"Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people."

"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost."

"America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own."
