I grew up in MI and left years ago because of grim job prospects and I expected to work for my keep! I have relatives still living there and the state is having so many financial woes so my husband pointed out this article to me: Immigration crisis comes to vassar watchdog wire michigan I'm guessing the idea is to "sneak" them into the smaller towns and hope they will go unnoticed. SO many children in the US live in poverty and have so little chance to get out. I am a firm believer in taking care of one's own before spreading the wealth.

I think it is happening everywhere now. Wherever they can find closed and empty schools and hotels, they will convert these into housing for the illegal kids coming from Central America and other places. It is happening here in Tucson already.

We could always move to League City, Texas. The City Council passed a resolution to ban illegal kids from their city. It passed 6 to 2. I doubt if it will hold up.

The Feds put out a job opportunity bulletin last January looking for child escorts (I don't recall what the exact job title was)--but part of the job was to escort the children to the:

"Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) shelters located throughout the continental United States.”

There was nothing in the job bulletin to say where these shelters were located, but it seemed like all was in place for this last January.
