Over $2 billion a year gets sent to Honduras from the US.
I read the average weekly amount is near $400 via western union.
So in about 4 months they'll have another $7K to spend.

Now think about it. If it's $7K per person and 290,000 have come here since last October then someone is very, very rich by now. These smugglers/coyotes don't operate on their own.

Maybe this is a new revenue stream for the cartels since every single one of them has to go through some cartel owned territory.

Another thing.....

It is illegal to send cash out of the US.....that is why western union keeps track.....and there is only one kind of bank draft that works....I forget what it is.

Cash leaves the US everyday.....in dolls mailed back and forth....magazines...all kinds of ways.

There IS an inspection process in Honduras....but, the risk is worth it.....and the system is not very honest.

Not only cash, but these immigrants use their EBT cards to buy food and smuggle that food out of the country.
They pack the food into "water barrels" and send the "water barrels" to their families in third world countries.

In Mexico all you need is a Post Office box !

"Nearly all of San Luisís 26,000 residents receive mail at post office boxes because the U.S. Postal Service does not offer home delivery in the town."

State prosecutors have charged 10 Mexican citizens with U.S. residency status of fraudulently obtaining public assistance benefits, including Social Security and Medicaid. In one case more than $140,000 of a defendantís medical care was paid by the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, Arizonaís version of Medicaid. The same defendant also received more than $45,000 in Social Security Supplemental Security Income benefits.

Ten with U.S. resident status accused of benefits fraud

I'm guessing we offer a better "package" than the other countries.

Perhaps Obama promised his Democrats up for re-election in November that he would indeed deport some of them. I don't think 40 will help keep many of those Democrats in office.

Agreed. Word is the drug cartels make MORE money smuggling illegal aliens than just by smuggling drugs. Too, many of those illegals also are drug "mules", meaning they're carrying dope with them to the US from Mexico.
