Forgive me if this has been posted already - it's getting hard to keep track of all the places that have infected illegal aliens.

"There’s more than chicken pox (2 confirmed cases) going around. So far 89 immigrants have tested positive on the skin test for tuberculosis. That is just a preliminary test. There have been no confirmed cases. Eight immigrants also tested positive for lice, two for scabies.

All this has Artesia residents a little worried."

You are going to have people test positive for TB, because many have been vaccinated for it. If you have been vaccinated for it, your skin test will show up positive. Additionally, your small kids will show up positive, through your titers. I've had good friends, perfectly legal, have to go through a year of antibiotics because of a positive test from having had the vaccine and their kids getting a positive test through their mom from the vaccine. I am currently engaged to a man who will always test positive to TB, because he had the vaccine.

I did not know this

So do you think it will be safe to send the 89 people across the country on busses to their destination ?

If these 89 were vaccinated for TB, why wasn't the other 511 people vaccinated ?
If you have kids in school, would you let one of these kids that tested positive for TB sit next to your kid in class ?

I have no idea, of course, whether they had been vaccinated. One of my points, is that every year the media goes nuts about positive tests, and they NEVER mention that people who have been vaccinated (and it is given routinely in Latin America, but not here) will test positive for TB with a skin test. From my understanding, and I'm not in the health field, once testing positive they do a chest x-ray. This I learned from friends today who are doctors and nurses, because I was curious. I also learned that some European countries vaccinate for TB, and those people will also skin test positive.

OK; so how many countries allow immigrants in that test positive for TB? My feeling is that most countries would want to clear any mistaken positive up; before exposing their own citizens. I should say: Most countries, that care about their own citizens, would want to insure they were not infecting their legal citizens.

We also have chicken pox, scabies and lice mentioned by the op. Why are we now adopting the attitude that we would rather be 'sorry; than safe"? If our politicians want illegals into our Country so bad - let them live and support them first. If they are truly humanitarians and care about these people; they should be more than willing to open their homes an places of work (the WH and Congress) to untested and untreated illegals.

TB is a major life altering disease. What company is going to allow any worker, known to have TB, to continue to work? Treatment can be forever - is anybody ever 'free' of the disease?

Besides TB, other respiratory diseases, and a potential Ebola outbreak, unscreened and non-quarantined illegal aliens can bring in diseases that can be spread through contact with unvaccinated children and infected individuals who do not wash their hands after using the bathroom or who discard used toilet tissue with fecal matter into waste baskets instead of flushing them.
