Forget about swimming across a river or walking across the desert, now the illegals are going straight to a Port of Entry and turning themselves in to the Border Patrol. Can we be more accommodating to these people !!

Word of the day - They are no longer "illegal aliens" now they are called "inadmissibles". News to me.

More young border crossers going straight to port

Ugh, this is getting SO out of control. Disgusting. And we're just rolling out the red carpet for these people. Unbelievable.

I agree with BigD. What in the heck is going on?

From the article I linked below:

"Even as they grapple with an immigration crisis at the border, White House officials are making plans to act before November's mid-term elections to grant work permits to potentially millions of immigrants who are in this country illegally, allowing them to stay in the United States without threat of deportation, according to advocates and lawmakers in touch with the administration. "

Obama mulls large-scale move on immigration

Work permits to potentially millions of immigrants and without threat of deportation? The Obama administration has gone absolutely mad. Our politicians are complete sell-outs. The Democrats are pimping for future votes. The Republicans know that the ball is on the Democrats' side of the court. Our country is circling the drain. Meanwhile the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, big business and the corporations will be celebrating because they will get their laborers to work for very low wages which means CHA-CHING.

A human being cannot be illegal #1. But us bright Americans love to use the term to describe people.

You have not committed a crime until you are proven guilty in a court of law.

If so, pay a fine and get to the back of the line and pay taxes. Simple enough.

They can be "illegal aliens" if they don't have any business being in this country. Just like you would be an illegal alien if, for example, you lived in El Salvador without a visa.

Okay. Split hairs if you want. Entering this country without permission is a crime. Then illegal aliens further compound it by taking a job, which they, by law, aren't supposed to be doing. Then most either get paid under the table, which is tax evasion. Or there are the ones using a fake or stolen SSN. ID theft is a crime.

So...according to you, if an illegal alien has been in this country for 20 years and getting paid under the table, it's okay if s/he just pays $5000? Meanwhile, if an American citizen or legal immigrant doesn't pay taxes for 20 years, s/he goes to jail and has to make full restitution.

An illegal commits ID theft and all is forgiven. Meanwhile, an American citizen or legal immigrant commits ID theft s/he goes to jail.

It's not "simple enough".

It's called undocumented. Not illegal. But keep using negative terms to describe God's children looking for a better life for their families.

(Illegals) as in illegal aliens, illegal immigrants break many laws. But then you knew this already.
What does a legal immigrant have to do before they can come to the USA? Before they can work in the USA?
What crimes are they allowed to have committed and still be allowed to enter the country? What laws are they allowed to violate and still remain?
Now why should (Illegals) be held to a lower standard or be allowed to stay when they cheated the system and abused our rights as a nation?
What is the back of the line? Is it return to nation of origin and apply for a VISA like all legals had to do? I think so.
How many years can you not pay taxes and get a free pass, just pay the taxes when the IRS catches you? I don't know but I doubt it is the sweet deal Obama would like to grant (illegals).
What would happen to you if you committed document fraud, ID theft or tax fraud? I don't think it would be the free pass (illegals) are being offered by Obama.

Our immigration system is so broken and complicated and designed for "legal immigrants" that have the financial resources to do so, that you can't blame people for coming illegally.

In order for you to come legally, you have to spend THOUSANDS of dollars. Just think of that. THOUSANDS. So how do you expect people to enter legally that have the need to?

If it's choosing between dying and having a chance at life for your kids, you would do the same thing.

It's that simple. Don't complicate it. Put yourself in these people's shoes for just ONE minute.

And don't make them seem like evil people or want to destroy America - come on. It's not right.

Try it yourself. Pretend you live in El Salvador for instance. Research the process to come here legally. Tell me your results.

I most certainly can blame people for coming here illegally!

Oh poor, poor illegals! They don't want to fill out the paperwork and await their turn boo hoo! So, according to you, then it's okay if they thumb their noses at our immigration laws and break into this country?

You need to put yourself in a legal immigrant's shoes. They have to wait years to come here and willingly do so.

Our country doesn't owe the entire world a free pass to come here. Of course, someone from El Salvador, who is uneducated and functionally illiterate won't find an easy way here. Do you know why that is? It's because we don't need millions of functionally illiterate people.

I have no sympathy for any adult who is here illegally---whether it's because they overstayed a visa or sneaked across a border. None of them have any business being here. People who go to another country illegally lack a moral compass.

It is illegal alien. Period. And not all of them sneak in here because they are "looking for a better life for their families". Even if that's the case, they have no right to break immigration laws.
