So Rick Perry is going against Federal law by sending troops to the Texas border?

No. He can send them. They just can't do the job you apparently think they can.

Texas state and local law enforcement officers cannot enforce federal immigration law, meaning they cannot detain people based solely on their immigration status. But they can refer those they suspect have entered the country illegally to the Border Patrol.
But what the hey, if you and TVC think that's a good use of the state budget, by all means, send in the Guard to do interviews with suspicious looking Hispanics.

Oh, wait. Lawsuits for profiling. Well, nevermind all that. Just do something. Even if it's stupid.

Why thank you. It is nice that the world's 7th wealthiest, most robust economy can do a little to help a temporary humanitarian crisis for children being assaulted and starved in their neighboring homeland.

You are funny. You always tout the 7th largest economy thing while blindly ignoring every problem California has. Everything from the worst unemployment rates and highest number of people living in poverty to the most number of Welfare recipients and some of the worst ratings in the country for business climate. Keep your head buried in that sand

And you are as sad as I am funny.

I don't ignore problems. I simply don't let them control my attitude and sense of happiness and fulfillment. Life is about meeting challenges at every step, not huddling in a corner sucking your thumb and whining you don't have guarantees for all your dreams.

Unemployment and poverty in California isn't the state's failing in the slightest. It is a sign that this place is so appealing that people who should leave, or never come here to begin with, can't bear to go away. This place is so gonzo successful that business thrives to the point of being the world's 7th best economy in spite of all the limitations to business necessitated by us being overwhelmed and having a sense of responsibility to be a leader.

Unless you happen to wander 75 miles east of all that economic gonzo-ness and then its a mash up between the Rio Grande Valley and Appalachia. But hey, lets keep that dirty little secret well hidden. Don't want to rain on anyone's parade.

Seriously. Tule acts like all of California is some mega rich state with tech guys running around making 7 figures a year, businesses are making money hand over fist (when in reality they are leaving CA) and everyone lives the good life here as he touts our 7th best GDP rate. It's hysterical
