Seriously?? So, you say they "can move TO LatAM, we def don't want their kind." Since when do "we" count anymore. "We" are not the future - "we" are the past. You can say anything you want and believe what you want, but reality and future demographics indicate otherwise. If there's going to be a change to the Constitution, it had better happen in the six years, or it will never happen.
Immigration was almost cut off in 1920 because of the huge numbers of European peasants coming here tho most did it legally. Then things were opened up again in 1965. Looking at the past: the door WILL be closed again.
Look what's going on in Europe in 2014: country after country is sayin "no more" and clamping down hard against people coming from non Schengen places like Africa, the US, Canada, LatAm and Asia.
OP, did you mean illegal immigrants ? Or just immigrants ? This is the illegal immigration forum, we have a separate forum for legal immigration issues too.
Yac.

Exactly. If the traditional demographics have a future, the two parties won't be the way they are today.
Even if there are Latinos and Hispanics who want a secure border and less immigration, they are the minority voice. Don't forget that immigrants also want to bring family here once they become citizen.
The crisis is actually much deeper. American citizens are no longer wanted by employers. That goes for both parties. That alone is a huge challenge. The conservative right is running away from any concern about the average joe. They want a globalist economy. The liberal left is running away from any sense of US nationalism, except big government. They link such nationalism with racism, imperialism, etc. They want a romantic society diverse to the point where Americans no longer have unity. Both sides are fishing in the pool for different things. But the reality is, despite the lefts ideology, commoners life is becoming more difficult. Despite the rights ideology, the free market is much more challenging than before globalization.
In 20 years, our demographics will be very different both in terms of ethnic make up and socioeconomic make up. We will also have a huge baby boomer retiree population and a restless and jobless young population. American kids born today are not going to be able to compete with middle class kids in China, even for jobs in the US. Then employers will be even less willing to hire Americans.
What's waiting for us is misery. It is misery.
Too bad a globalist economy will never work.
The funny thing about globalist is the harder they push the fast it blows up in their face...
Dont worry when the economy goes all welfare classes will stop having kids due to the lack of welfare funds, that and the mass of illegals will just go back home..
Why the hell did we allow mass 3rd world immigration into this nation?
The economy goes or some new virus will set the balance back.
This is a fundamental question in the discussion of immigration.
The democrats are counting on immigrant votes in the future.
So here is the question. Will these new and future immigrants voteforthedemocrats more than the republicans? Explain why.

If they become citizens, of course the illegals will vote Democratic. Their US born older anchor babies are voting Democratic right now, as will their younger ones when they become of age. This is the primary reason why the Obama administration and the Democratic Party wants them here.
