Duh, maybe they should have stayed home !
Duh, maybe they should have gone South to South America !

Images show corpses of illegal immigrants left to die after Texas border crossings | Mail Online

I ran across the OP's story via drudge earlier today. WOW. I know it is not a new problem, but now the situation has spun way out of control.

First I think that the two parties need to agree to a temporary moratorium on scoring partisan points over this, because that just prolongs the debate and delays solutions.

Second rescind 'DACA' the 'memo' issued by Obama after Congress rejected the Dream Act. And mount an ad campaign to spread the word in Central America. I am not opposed to legislation to protect someone like an Aded Reyes who was brought here when less than 2 years old and then faced deportation at around age 20. But DACA and the dream act were way too open-ended and acted as a magnet to create the present crisis. So pass a very narrow amnesty to capture people like Aded Reyes. Last but not least, we need a massive effort to improve border security. Sure it is almost 2000 miles, but if we have the law enforcement resources to bust hookers, pot smokers, and kids drinking beer, even African hair braiders, then we have the resources to secure our border. I would not bust one hooker, pot smoker, or hair braider until the border is first secured.

Really? Happiness? Are you in mourning for people who knew the many risks, being robbed, losing their way, coyotes, family and friends abandoning them because they were injured or too tired to finish the journey, rape and murder, they were up against on their journey to enter the US illegally? From the time they leave their hut there are multiple risks along the way. Some just don't make it.

When someone robs a house and gets arrested or shot, do you feel sorry for the robber knowing that there was at least on risk to his criminal act?

US policy towards illegal immigration and the presidents enticement are responsible for this tragedy. If the US strictly enforced its immigration policy, even as currently written, we wouldn't see this happening. We have immigration policy as do all nations, for a reason. This is one of those reasons. It has been treated as political fodder for too long.

Part of the problem is some of the illegals think it is a short walk to a city when they enter the USA.......where they enter now that is not true.

At one time most crossed near Brownsville.

That is mentioned in the OP's link. Coyotes dropped off their charges and told them Houston is 20 minutes away, whereas in reality it is almost 300 miles away. They are on foot with little more than the clothes on their back.
