An ID card is used in the EU. Which one of those forms of government do they fall under?

AndreaBeth, I already got in trouble with the moderator for hitting the nail on the head, so I won't do it again. But if you prefer the Socialist Paradise of Central Government Control as is found in the Socialist Paradise of Europe to the United States of America, feel free.

I prefer my freedom as free as I can make it

Some countries in the EU use an ID card, but there is no EU-wide ID card issued by the central European government.

Well just for fun, the next time a police officer asks for your ID, pull that out.

No time to read the many thoughtful comments here, but I lost a job to maquila outsourcing in the early 90's. If I was still competing with those that couldn't get that maquila job or lost it & went north, south, east or west, I'd consider myself a l0zer.

I carry mine as well in my native US. My verbal statement that I was born on a particular day in a particular place. That's what "proof of citizenship" for free persons has always been. (NO ID reqs in the US)

For the last 20 years (and, NEVER, before that) I've had some I-9 requirement at some jobs. It's all just some gov. BS.
