Default Jobs

Well, I haven't had my job stolen but I sure as hell can't find one either. Born and raised in TX and just recently moved to California with my husband who is Navy. I left everything I had in Texas behind including my Gov. job and thought I would have no problem finding a job in what I had called "the land of oppurtunity" only cause it's bigger than where we come. Boy, was I wrong!!
I am Mexican American, English is my language and Spanish secondary, I am a Business and Admin student (almost done), and a prior Government employee who can't even compete with the people here for a job. I have even taken a step down in the job market thinking I'll start at the bottom. Wrong!! But a Philipino who doesn't speak any English can work and I know a mom from my daughters class who says words like ("shair"- chair) and has a great job. I go to the store here on base and I feel like I'm standing in a Philipino convention. But here enters (often mistaken for Hawaiian) an educated Mexican woman, and then I open my mouth and the Texas in me just flows on out and I get the boot. It is so frustrating and I have never experienced nothing like this!!
I kinda like what that Senator in OK has done. Clean house!! But it can't just start with the Mexican population. I thought so too until I moved here and this Texican was in culture shock; Asian, Philipinos, Japanese, Lebonese, Indians (not our Native Americans), Iraqi and Mexicans. So if we're cleaning America up, whoever doesn't have legal papers to be here, has got to hit the road and go back to their homeland cause we're taking ours back so people like you and I can have a job!~

I have noticed that many of our anti illegal 'Hispanics' tend to hail from Texas.

Welcome to the board just the same; most of us here are anti illegal immigrant as well.

When a job is taken, I'm assuming that it's taken by the original and rightful "owner" of the job; that would be the employer, yes? And when said job is given to those illegal demons, I'm assuming that it's given by the employer, yes?

So what are people doing about all the employers who are giving away the jobs to all these illegals?

*smacks head*

Talk about irony. Since when is your side concerned about American citizens?

Talk about nonsensical positions. Since when should companies be excused from the law based on job loss? Should we have allowed Enron to continue breaking the law, in consideration of the people who lost their jobs?

Sometimes the pro-illegals seem to be anarchists. Other times, communists. But always, the arguments make little to no sense.

Well gee, every time someone posts about say, the Arizona law designed to target EMPLOYERS starting January 1st, the usual suspects jump up and down cheering, "it will get overturned!" "YAY!!!"

Can't be too hard on them, all the pro illegals still want to give them some time to pack up before the INS comes and takes them away!

They're coming to take them away, haha!

Can't rep you again, so thanks go out here to quoting lyrics from Napoleon XIV!!!

I really think that when our laws are properly enforced, there shouldn't be too much need for INS (or ICE) to get involved with deportation - when the gravy train dries up, they will self-deport. They managed to get here, they can manage to leave here. I really don't see anyone NOT allowing them to leave, whatever customs port they choose to leave through.
