Our earth is a very complex system. Professional self respecting climatologists who actually follow the scientific method are the least likely to act as some kind of modern prophet.

Glendale, CA is probably the most "Caucasian" place in the US, considering its at least a third Armenian.

I don't remember that particular character in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom?

Perhaps you were thinking of "Down and Out in Beverly Hills"?

Really! Who knew? Thanks. San Francisco's "Russian" community has had a significant influx from the Caucasus, too. Georgians, and others.

You seem to be conflating the anthropological definition of "Caucasian" which includes blond Nordic people, with the individual people of the steppe in the Caucasus Mountain region. Nobody in the nations of the steppe calls themselves "Caucasian", rather they identify as Turks, Georgians, Armenians, Tatars, Tajiks, etc., by their nationality. Yet, all of these people are Caucasians racially, which as I said, is a large swath of people from Sweden to Sri Lanka.
Oh, good grief! It was tongue-in-cheek. Plus an attempt to raise some awareness among people who may not know much about the region.

Sheesh. Lighten up.

Ha---good one about the Caucasians.

It's funny that when you read through history, in the 1840s people were afraid that the Irish immigrants would destroy the culture. In the 1870s they warned that we would collapse because of all Germans coming in. In the 1890s, the immigrants from Eastern Europe were undermining the culture. Then around 1900, there were moves to stop Chinese and Japanese immigration.

Awhile back I read an editorial written in 1920 that claimed Italians should be barred from immigration here and their colonies deported back to Italy because Italians were incapable of assimilating into American culture.

Now that we hear the same about Latin Americans, maybe things like this should be taken with a grain of salt.

Yup. I remember learning about all that in various history courses. Really sad, the prejudice people faced in their day. Some analysts say it was all about the labor market, and how Anglo-Americans were afraid of competition for jobs. The Irish formed or joined unions and shut out Blacks, because since the Irish had once been subject to slavery, they were trying to distance themselves from that stigma, and raise their profile in society.

True. I knew a blond guy who said he got mobbed wherever he went on a trip to Latin America. Mobbed, almost violently.

Considering Mexican-Americans marriages to "whites" of both genders account for 1/3 of all the interracial/ethnic marriages I have a feeling Caucasians will be around for many years to come. Too me their children do not look interracial much just look at Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Jessica Alba as examples of how these children turn out. They look white to me.

I have a number of cousins on both sides of my family that have married Latinos (Mexicans and one Peruvian). Their kids are the best looking in the family (and better looking that either parent). They definitely got the best of both.
