NAFTA is fantastic, we should unilaterally open free trade with every country.

Immigration is also great as it improves an economy. Texas has been experiencing lower unemployment despite the massive influx of people. It's our economic system that is the problem. A good system makes use of people, a bad one cannot. Texas is proving it right now.

I don't agree. It's def time to really cut down on all immigration and, arrest ANY illegal found; hold, then deport. There are way too many US citizens who want to work but can't because illegals are "slaves" and can be cheated.

IMO, NAFTA has been a disaster both for workers in this country and abroad.

Immigration in reasonable numbers that doesn't deplete jobs opportunities and resources for Americans is ok while keeping in mind our population growth. Illegal immigration is unacceptable. How in the world does experiencing a massive influx of people lower unemployment? The more people there are the
more demand and competition for jobs. Please provide a viable link that backs up your claims, thanks.

So you are upset because they are volunteering to be our 'slaves'? It's obviously better for them or they would not come, and it is better for us as it makes our lives easier.

Illegals are not even eligible for many government programs so when they pay taxes on a fake ID we get to keep the money.

If your assertion was true that they steal our jobs, Texas we would have one of the highest unemployment rates. Guess what it doesn't, actually Texas has one of the lowest cost of living. (immigration contributes to this)

American's benefit from immigration and free trade by lowering the cost of living. And all this without killing jobs. They don't even compete with us as they fill jobs at mostly the low wage end that American's don't want.

Doesn't matter what they volunteer for they have no right to live or work here. They don't make regular American lives easier they make it harder in loss of jobs, reduced wages, added crime, increased taxes, overcrowded schools, jails and hospitals. The only ones reaping the rewards are their greedy employers who pass their social costs on to us and increase their profits.

Illegal aliens are able to tap into our welfare coffers through their U.S. born kids. They never pay in enough taxes to cover their enormous social costs. Using a fake or stolen ID is a felony by the way.

What does Texas' low unemployment rates have to do with illegal aliens? I already asked for a link to prove your assertions and I am still waiting. Calif. has the largest illegal alien population in the country and their economy and job situation is terrible. "Immigration"? The topic is illegal immigration. It's not the same thing. You keep switching back and forth. No one is opposed to legal immigration in reasonable numbers. There are no jobs that Americans won't do for a fair wage.

Uh; illegal aliens DON'T make "my" life better except when they're being deported.

Jobs: last time I checked; construction jobs used to play well. Not anymore with those lawbreakers being allowed to stay in the US. We don't need their kind. Period.

You are aware this is the illegal immigration forum and not the legal immigration forum, right? The latter is a positive in reasonable numbers the former is a big net negative.

The points work regardless of their legal status. And it addresses both so all of the points stand.
