This was not a good year at all for them and the next year will be even worse and that is good for them to finally see that they have awakened the sleeping giant.

Actually when the democrats defunded such a large part of the border fence it was probably an absolutely huge victory for pro-illegal aliens.

We have a stalemate in congress. One where one congress pushes and funds an agenda, and then the next congress defunds it. It's a situation that always favors the illegals. Unless we completely fund the fence and put the military on the border we lose this war. And I mean unless we get a 2000 mile fence up AND put the military on the border we lose under ALL circumstances. Because sooner or later we'll either be bred out of our own country or an amnesty will be granted which will attract an even larger invasion.

It's a waiting game. And with each passing day the illegals gain ground.

Bred out? Democrats are going to win even more seats in the house and senate in the next elections. A dem or either Mcain or Rudy will win the white house, so either way the anti-immigration crowd fails.

For the record: our Democrat governor, Janet Napolitano, signed the Employer Sanction Law which is to kick in on Tuesday------Jan 1st.

Translation: if I were pro illegal; I would no longer count on the Dems to help out anymore.

No ... things have hit a tipping point. Americans are pretty tolerant generally but there is a point where they no longer are impressed with all this flotsam that is drifting up from that foul-smelling country to the South. We have reached that point. The Democrats (and McCain and Rudy, both Dems anyway) will be unable to legalize their illegal, uneducated, pidgin-Spanish-speaking supporters from Mexico.

If you also put a bill to legalize hardworking illegal immigrants on her desk, she would glady sign it. You can be for enforcement plus legalization.

Poll after Poll proves otherwise. Americans don't mind legalizing hardworking, taxpaying illegal immigrants.

We'll see. You're highly underestimating the anger of the American people on this issue and the affect it will have on the 2009 election. Those candidates with a strong anti-illegal immigration stance will do well. And by the way, no one here is anti-immigration, we are anti-ILLEGAL immigration, please learn the difference.

Please, immigration is not going to trump iraq, economy, health care, terrorism etc. Just find me a poll that says otherwise. Isn't this what you guys said in 2006? Yet hardliners on immigration went down in deafeat example J.d hayworth of arizona against pro-legalization harry mitchell and even Rick santorum and Bob casey.

He is also stating very one sided polls because in reality the majority of the Americans want illegals, ALL illegals, deported.
