Democratic leaders ran for cover Monday from legislation that would allow illegal immigrants to vote in New York and become eligible for health and other benefits now reserved for citizens.
The measure — which also would allow undocumented residents to obtain driver’s licenses and even run for office — was introduced earlier this year by state Sen. Gustavo Rivera (D-Bronx) and Assemblyman Karim Camara (D-Brooklyn).
For some Dem incumbents, the issue was too sensitive to even discuss.

NY Dems distance themselves from illegal immigrant legislation | New York Post

It's def getting BAD for illegal aliens when even the Dems in "liberal" areas are fixin' to cut and run from any kind of amnesty.

Liberals argued for months on this site that there would not be moves made so that illegals could eventually be eligable for Obamacare. It was a lie. They knew it was a lie. Conservatives knew it was a lie. Everybody knew it was a lie. People will remember in November and they'll remember in 2016. And now democrats are running like cockroaches in the light. Run you little bastards. Run away as fast as you can. We'll remember.

You can't run from or distance yourself from something you created. Democrats own this issue, this is 100% on you and we intend on reminding you of it regularly.

I looked up the traitor, state senator Gustavo Rivera. He is a native-born Puerto Rican. Just like Luis Gutierrez, Rivera likes throwing his people under the bus in favor of illegals. How despicable!

Then again, Rivera represents The Bronx where there are way too many low information voters.

He may consider Mexicans and other Latinos as "his" people also. Since they like Puerto Ricans are Hispanic.

Yes, some PRs think that they have to consider Hispanic illegals as "their people". That said, I don't think that way and neither does my dad.

You should hear the way they'll start hating on Cubans though.

Maybe California will get a clue. Illegal would cost the state billions just to carry on Illegals on a already tight State Budget.

So what next for NY, 60-70 taxes to cover the bills. Never the notion they have voting rights? Next thing these Dems will do is put a price tag on the retail price of Citizen ship. Just to get votes and fill the dry city coffers.
