Don't know what you mean that only the Republican party was/is accepting of Cubans. "Wet foot, dry foot" was a policy set by the congress and president at the time many years ago. Can you prove what you are asserting here? Besides, isn't it better to allow people in here that aren't poor and destitute rather than those who will be a burden to our country rather than a benefit? Just what is the hypocricy here? What about this administration (Democrats) that are pandering to Hispanic-Americans for their votes via an amnesty when we all know if these illegal aliens ever become citizens they will vote Democrat also. Isn't that the same thing?
To be honest, I have no problem with these migrants as they have a legit case to come to the US. They live under an oppressive government unlike Mexicans or Central Americans.
We should seal the borders period. Enforce all laws . If anything the US should be more proactive in economic relations so the Cuban wave will not hit the US.
Its the same old tire story. Working in Miami Florida, most of these immigrants are Citizens by paper. The Majority doesn't even know American History or bother to keep English first. They wave their flag of the old country and turn our cities into Ghettos. No Thanks!

It is time to end the wet foot dry foot deal. It's also time to end the senseless embargo of Cuba.
I favor ending the embargo in exchange for a number of concessions:
1) Cuba must turn over all terrorists and fugitives hiding from American justice.
2) Cuba must stay out of our internal matters.
3) Cuba must reimburse American citizens for the property that was stolen after Castro took power in 1959.
While I agree that the embargo is stupid I also believe that ending it without forcing at least the first two concessions would further embolden Latin America's anti-American leftist regimes.

Yes, and many of them are on welfare, and like the illegals from Mexico, DHS is usually their first stop. Also, like the illegals from Mexico, most of them send a lot of money back to relatives in Cuba.

And who determines a "legit" case? There are people all over the world who will claim they have a "legit" case, thinking they have a personal right to come to the U.S. That does not mean they have the right to ignore our laws, and exploit the U.S. And Cubans shouldn't be granted any special privileges over anyone else.
All they need to do, whether they're planning to come here or have already crossed the border illegally and are caught by border patrol or DHS, is say two magic words: "credible fear"--hands off, and they're in. TO STAY. And they all know it, too because word has spread not only throughout Mexico but also in Central America and now Cuba.

1 way to filter out the scammers from the real deal is to put ALL illegal aliens who claim"credible fear' into detention camps'; NOT released on "own recognisance", till their cases are heard. Then word will get out real fast.
