This claim of being a refugee and needing asylum is probably bogus for most of them anyway. We certainly shouldn't be allowing them into our country without health checks first and should be quarantined if they have a communicable desease and then go on to posing a burden on our cities and states in the form of education, healthcare and housing.
Agreed and do how Australia rolls: lock them up in camps BEFORE they have any kind of screening.
So skilled very fit young drivers were kept in a DETENTION facility instead of being somewhere and do some work and maybe live rent-free with that family in California. Hmm .. who would expect that teens like freedom too, and sometimes cannot accept their status of subjects to "the law" and do what people are supposed to do: angrily break away. Obviously car jacking is wrong, but what to expect from less conformist very angry young people?
Even if all the blame is on the teens, statistically is about 2/60000, pretty good compared with "legal" people.

Rent-free?
Subjects of the law?
Conformists?
Like freedom too?
2/60000 ?

Uh; all the MORE reason to keep those troublemakers under lock and key. An anglo white US citizen kid acting like that WOULD be locked up, def NO reason to give ILLEGAL aliens any more "rights'. Sheesh!
The dream act kids are nothing but a bunch of whiners that think they deserve to be rewarded because their parents are low life scum.
The pair that carjacked a 91 year old should just be taken out back and shot at dawn (or earlier)..
We had a pos that I actually KNEW in Vancouver, BC that Canada actually got DEPORTED. The military picked him up in Guatemala upon landing, looked at his file (which was a lot mellower than these two) and basically, he was never seen again.
Looks like they did the job they should have done earlier.
Two Guatemalan asylum seekers, age 16 and 17, escaped a detention facility in Des Plaines, Illinois, and committed a carjacking They then drove 165 miles to Moline, Illinois, where they carjacked a 91-year-old Navy veteran They were arrested 80 miles away outside Iowa City, Iowa The teens were housed at a federal program for children who cross the US-Mexico border and claimed asylum More than 60,000 children poured across the border from Central America this summe
I don't consider 16 and 17 year olds as children and there were many more that crossed our border that were within that age group.
And the saga of the bearded "children" continues...
The fact is, these refugees and asylum seekers are not required to produce proof of age--they claim they don't have it. Oh, and they lie about it.
