Which ethnic group will dominate America in the second half of the 21st Century? On this planet 2/3 of the people are Asian. 40% of the world's population live in India and China. Only 1/8 of the World's population is Hispanic. One would think that once a new immigration bill is passed that Asians would get as good a chance to become legal Americans as Hispanics. Which ethnic group gets preference will have a serious impact on our culture, economy and crime rate in the future.
Why can't we have less political correctness and determine which countries should get preferences when it comes to future American immigration? In Canada and Australia it is mostly skilled Asians, how is it working for them? In America most of our immigrants are unskilled Hispanics, how is it working for us?
If Canada or Australia bordered on Mexico (or any third-world nation), one of two things would happen: (1)These countries would soon play host to millions of immigrants crossing that 'border', with or without permission...OR (2) These countries would be forced to change their tolerant society's rules, and probably be forced to build a fence, or something similar, to keep the immigation rate down,
If the United States were surrounded by an ocean, it would probably have very few illegal immigrants, (they CERTAINLY wouldn't be arriving on foot), and would probably be concentrating on attracting the 'skilled Asians' mentioned in the OP's post....

That said, fewer people will have a desire to come here if the economy remains as flat and uncertain as it is.

Having a little bit of Asian heritage, I can tell you that your "preference" isn't desired or valued. Asians--especially Asian Pacific Americans--don't care for being "model minority" tools. They want a normal life just as everyone else, and are put-off by petty biases and prejudices just like most other people of color.
As for skilled vs. unskilled, that's not so much U.S. gov't policy as it is the economic policy of private business. So if you're weary of PC, then you really ought to be taking your case to industry. It's they who will determine the economy for the future.

Hispanics aren't a real demographic group.
Take them out of the picture as a monolithic group, and the only group that grows significantly are "Mixed race" and "Natives"!

In the Jim Crow American South; some people of Chinese or Japanese heritage were counted as 'White'---------not Colored (catchall term for a person of any race/ethnicity with caramel or darker colored skin).
Asians in the Jim Crow south where never counted as white. Please give some evidence for this claim. I think some white looking Indian guy tried to be counted as white by taking his claim to the courts but was denied. That's all I ever hear even related to this.
Considering My Toyota Was Stolen 3 Times By Illegal Aliens When I Lived In San Diego And At One Time I Lived In A Largely Populated Asian Neighborhood In Central Cal.(which Was Peaceful And Fairly Safe) I Vote The Majority Will Be Asians! Ofcourse, If The Hispanic Aliens Cease Taking Cars That Don't Belong To Them (and All Other Law-breaking), I Vote They Will Become The Majority...
