From the article:

Democrats and immigrant-rights advocates, though, said Mr. Obama must not be cowed by the election results.

“The fact is that the president has the moral responsibility and the full authority under existing law to expand relief and end the policies he himself has described as inhumane. Good policy should not be subject to bad politics,” said Pablo Alvarado, executive director of the National Day Laborer Organizing Network.

---------------------
Typical claptrap from the invasion cheerleaders. "Moral responsibility"? Gimme me a break! Illegal aliens have no business being here thus their actions are immoral. People who want to immigrate here have a "moral responsibility" to do so in accordance with our immigration laws.

"Inhumane" policies? What a joke! Yet it's not "inhumane" to jail bank robbers and drug dealers and other criminals but illegals should get a free pass when they break immigration laws. Yeah, right!

I'm really surprised by the result in Oregon. According to The Oregonian (Oregon Local News, Breaking News, Sports & Weather - OregonLive.com) , 35 out of 36 counties rejected the measure. It only passed in Multnomah County (Portland) but only by 54% to 46%. The fact that almost half of Portland voters, some of the most liberal in the country, were opposed to drivers licenses for illegal immigrants speaks volumes.

I was surprised also. Oregon is known to be a liberal state. Maybe they're waking up also.

True and what about the inhumaneness towards Americans who have had their jobs stolen and/or their wages reduced via illegal immigration among other crap they have to deal with because of illegal immigration?

People are getting pissed and; many "liberals" go "Tea Party" mode when illegal immigration is being talked about. IMHO the TRUE "treehuggers" ain't big fans of illegals because illegal aliens are even more stress on our water supplies, roads and so on.

Would you want to share the roads with a bunch of UNINSURED drivers? Can you imagine the explosion in premiums for uninsured motorist coverage for the rest of us?

We already do. Giving driver's licenses to illegal aliens only makes it easier for them to survive here.

Just because an illegal gets a drivers license, it doesn't follow that s/he will get insurance. In fact, most of them won't bother getting any.
